How long does a food tour last?
Food tours last approximately 2-3 hours, depending on the type of food tour.
Is there a minimum/maximum number of guests?
The minimum is 8 guests and the maximum is 12 guests per group. Multiple groups can be utilized the same tour in a round robin method.
Do you accommodate people with food allergies &/or dietary restrictions? (vegetarian, gluten, religious)
Yes, we do our best to accommodate people with food allergies and dietary restrictions. Please be sure to inform us in advance to ensure menu changes are made.
How much food is served on your food tours?
Our tours serve enough food and drink that all participants are happy and full at the end of the tour. The tour will be enough to replace at least one full meal.
How much walking is involved on your tours?
Our waking tours are all conducted in walkable districts, usually less than 1 mile. Our guides keep the group together and walk at a moderate pace. There will be plenty of opportunities to sit and rest at each stop.
Do your tours have anything to offer to locals?
You bet! Many of our tours stop at restaurants and specialty shops that locals might have not known about or been meaning to stop into. We have found that even locals who have already been to one or more of the stops on our tours are being introduced to new menu items they had not yet had a chance to sample.
Does the Tour Guide or Instructor accept gratuities?
Gratuities are included in the price of our group tours. However, if you believe our guide did an exceptional job and you wish to give them a little something extra, they would be more than happy to graciously accept your offering with gratitude.
Is there shopping on your tours?
Select tours will have designated times and locations to go shopping. If a tour includes shopping stops, it will be noted in the booking, and the Tour Guide will be sure to inform everyone when those stops are.
Are the tours appropriate for children?
Since there is a lot of standing and walking on our tours, we ask that you please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child. The Savor Our City Culinary Tour experience is more suitable for adults. There are no discounted tickets available for children on our tours and children over the age of 3 will have to purchase a ticket to attend, regardless of whether they will be participating in the tastings.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes, almost all of our tours are wheelchair accessible with 72 advance notice for tours involving transportation. Please be sure to inquire with us at the time of booking to ensure all routes and accommodations are made properly.
Are there beverages on the tour?
Beverages will be served at the majority of the tasting locations. We encourage participants to bring a bottle of water; wine/beer/cocktails are typically provided at one or more stops on our tours, however a package can be arranged for the entire group.
What if it is raining the day of the tour?
Tours are held rain or shine. In the rare event of a tour being cancelled due to severe inclement weather, guests will be notified and refunded.
Do tours start and end at the same place?
No. Our tours end a couple blocks from the starting point. Your Tour Guide will be sure to help point you in the right direction at the end of the tour and/or make sure your bus driver has the location of where to pick your group up.
