“Must-Try” RECIPES
Seasonal & Regional Delights To Make In Your Own Kitchen
Cut cauliflower in small florets and Brussels sprouts in halves (both should have similar sizes to cook evenly). Spread on an oven tray. Add peeled garlic cloves and drizzle with oil.
Roast in the oven for 25-30 mins until golden and cooked.
When the vegetables are done, heat 2 Tbsp of olive oil in a large pan. Add finely chopped onion and cook under medium heat until soft. Add roasted vegetables, rosemary, vegetable stock and water. Bring to the boil, then cook covered under medium heat from 20 mins.
When done, whizz the soup to desired consistency, adding more vegetable stock or water if necessary. Season to taste, with lemon juice.

Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour
Meet the best whiskey sour recipe—it’s full of bourbon and fresh lemon, sweetened with maple syrup and includes a hint of cinnamon (spice is optional). Feel free to multiply the amounts given below by up to four, if you’d like to make a bigger batch in your cocktail shaker all at once.
INGREDIENTS
Per cocktail
1 ½ ounces (3 tablespoons) of bourbon of your choice
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) fresh lemon juice
2 to 4 teaspoons maple syrup, to taste (I like 3 teaspoons, which is the equivalent of ½ ounce or 1 tablespoon)
Pinch of ground cinnamon, optional
Instructions
Fill a cocktail shaker or mason jar about two-thirds full with ice. Pour in the bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Securely fasten the lid and shake well.
Pour fresh ice into your cocktail glass and strain the cold whiskey sour mixture into the glass. Enjoy!
This decadent starter/appetizer will not only satisfy every one of your sweet/salty/savory desires, it will also double as a desert. Chef Dan Newman of Over the Bridlge Café in Delray Beachbrings you Sticky Bun; a fresh baked cinnamon bun made with a sticky maple glaze, candied pecans, sundried raisins and smoked bacon. You can add white chocolate, Nutella or chocolate drizzle to take it completely over the edge.
Over The Bridge Caféis open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and happy hour. The menu spans from traditional favorites like the ‘All American Breakfast’, all the way to creative house specialties like the ‘Mushroom Breakfast Flatbread’.
The comfortable, familiar energy at Over the Bridge Café is no coincidence- this restaurant is truly a family affair. You are certain to enjoy the quaint, open air dining room and good vibes!

EAT YOUR CONFETTI!!
Would You Like A Side of Confetti With Your Confetti?!
In Italy they don’t throw confetti at parades and celebrations, they EAT THEM! Yes, you read that correctly! Actually, confetti in Italian are almonds with a hard sugar coating eaten usually at wedding ceremonies. It’s far too expensive and dangerous to throw them!
In the old italian tradition the five almonds represent a special meaning, wishing your Children, Happiness, Health, Longevity and Wealth.
In the Greek tradition are called “koufetta” served on a silver tray is a odd number symbolizing how the newlyweds will share everything and remain undivided. For each occasion, there is a different color of confetti. White for Weddings, Communions and Confirmation, Baby Blue and Pink for Christenings, Red for Graduation, Green for Engagements, Multi Colors for Birthdays.
You have probably heard these confections also referred to as Jordan almonds which are thought to have originated in ancient Rome, where honey-covered almonds were introduced by a Roman baker and confectioner named Julius Dragatus. His confections were called dragati and were served by nobility at weddings and births. When sugar became more readily available in the 15th century, the nuts were coated in sugar instead.
The term Jordan is most likely a corrupted version of the French word jardin, meaning “garden”, hence, a cultivated rather than wild almond.

MEET DENISE RIGHETTI OF
SAVOR OUR CITY
IN BOCA RATON
gToday we’d like to introduce you to Denise Righetti.
Denise, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. A second generation native South Floridian, I was born in Miami and as a young girl, I would go to visit my grandparents who lived in Miami Beach. Driving over the causeway to get there was always a thrill for me as I would get a chance to admire all the cruise ships lined up one after the other along the pier.
