Easy-to-Make Recipes To Try
Being a healthier "me" is one of my personal goals for 2024 and I am betting many of you are on the same journey. In seeking healthier recipes for some of the "bad" food options we have all grown up with, I turn to my dear friend Allyson Lipnack, who brings us this month’s recipe.

After facing some personal health related issues a year ago, Allyson has been on an intensive wellness journey. She takes a holistic approach to healing her body by emphasizing fueling of the body with healthier, anti-inflammatory foods and supplements that actually prevent disease naturally rather than pumping in pharmaceuticals which may, with long long term use, be the underlying cause of some health issues.
I have witnessed Allyson heal herself naturally and in the process, shed some excess weight. At 55 years of age, she claims to be in the best shape of her life. Without dieting, Allyson has adopted a lifestyle that eliminate foods  that caused her inflammation and replaces them with tasty alternatives.

With encouragement from myself and others close to her, Allyson has launched
Thrive As You Age! As a personal health coach, she is able to help others lead a healthy lifestyle without dieting.

HEALTHY HOMEMADE - RANCH STYLE DRESSING
Ingredients

1 cup soaked raw unsalted cashews
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 medium shallot
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Juice of half a lemon
- Vinegar
(optional, to taste)
Directions

1 - Soak the raw cashews in water for at least 4 hours or overnight to soften them.
2 - Drain and rinse the soaked raw cashews.
3 - In a blender or food processor, combine the soaked raw cashews, almond milk, salt, parsley, shallot, garlic, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice.
4 - Blend until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, you can add more almond milk to reach your desired consistency.
5 Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add vinegar if you prefer a tangier flavor.
6 - Transfer the creamy ranch dressing to a jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.
7 - Serve as a dressing for salads or as a dip for vegetables or chips. Enjoy!

LEMON-BLUEBERRY BLONDIES
This spring inspired recipe is courtesy of Delish.com
Ingredients
Cooking spray
1 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. unsalted butter, melted, slightly cooled
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. finely grated lemon zest
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. fresh blueberries, divided
1 c. powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
1 - Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9" square baking pan cooking spray. Line with parchment, leaving an overhang on 2 opposite sides. Grease parchment with cooking spray.
2

-  Bake blondies until golden and a tester inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack and let cool completely.
5
-  In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice, adding water a few drops at a time, until a drizzling consistency is reached. Drizzle glaze over cooled blondies. Let set 15 minutes.

I'm super excited to announce that Ke-Uh recently opened their third location in Boca Raton at Boca Center. Serving Asian Fusion Tapas,  they offer an inventive sushi menu and vibrant ambiance with a bustling kitchen and trendy tunes. I had heard they were opening up in Boca but the time has finally arrived. Some of my top picks that I can't resist ordering everytime I'm at Ke-Uh are the Salmon Pizza, Tuna Crispy Rice, Pork Bao Buns, Crispy Brussels, and the Ke-Uh Sliders with a quail egg.

Tidbits From Our Blog
National Peanut Butter Lovers Day, observed on March 1st each year, is a delightful celebration for those who have a deep-seated affection for the creamy or crunchy goodness that is peanut butter. This beloved spread has become a staple in households around the world, finding its way into a myriad of dishes and snacks.

The origins of peanut butter can be traced back to ancient civilizations in South America. Aztecs and Incas are believed to have ground roasted peanuts into a paste. However, the modern concept of peanut butter took shape much later. Read More

WE ARE CELEBRATING A MILESTONE:

OUR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
When deciding on the location and activity to commemorate Savor Our City reaching our first major milestone of 10 years, we decided to bring it back to where it all began; with our Taste Atlantic Avenue food tour.

10 years ago we started our "Foodie Adventure" by offering one food tour that ran every Saturday from 11am - 2pm. The tour attracted both local and visiting foodies who were interested in getting a taste of what some of the most popular as well as the best kept hidden gems that Downtown Delray had to offer for one flat price. This concept morphed into Savor Our City from Denise's Foodie Events which was also founded by our very own, Denise Righetti who created tasting menus at various restaurants around Downtown Boca each month, much like a supper club.
Now, instead of tasting menus for small groups with visits to one restaurant at a time, our food tours allow larger groups of participants to experience several restaurants in one evening, with a bonus of getting to stretch their legs in between restaurant visits and having the opportunity to sit and interact with new faces at each stop
The decision to just concentrate on private group tours has enabled Savor Our City to grow exponentially both in the number of tours and experiences now being offered as well as geographically. We are currently operating throughout the State of FL and in select cities nationwide.
(For a map of where we currently operate, click here)
We also have the ability to curate new tours/experiences in any city with at least 30 days' advance notice.
We couldn't be more proud and grateful to continue offering our many foodie adventures with great networking, teambuilding and social activities all rolled into one.

This special anniversary tour was once again, open to the public and a wonderful group of loyal customers, friends and fans joined in for a very special public tour, just like the ones  we started out with 10 years ago!

Cheers to a year filled with flavorful discoveries, shared experiences, and the joy of savoring every moment! Until next time, happy savoring!

Until we eat (and drink) again...
I send you delicious wishes, xo
